Salsa Lessons

Our Salsa lessons teach New-York style salsa.

What lessons do we offer?

During the Autumn term 2011 we are offering the following lesson types, in 7 week courses:

  • Salsa beginners
    These classes are for people who have never done Salsa dancing, or have previously had only one or two lessons.
    Each lesson will have a maximum of 35 people.
  • Salsa improvers
    This class is for people who have already completed one whole year of lessons (i.e. both courses), or have a fair bit of experience dancing Salsa.
    Each lesson will have a maximum of 35 people.
  • Advanced Salsa and Salsa styling classes
    This class is for people who have previous experience of Salsa dancing and want to learn more advanced technique. These classes will take place on Wednesdays, at 6pm in the Portland Atrium.

During the Spring term 2011 we are offering the following lesson types, in 6 week courses:

  • Salsa beginners
    These lessons will be the same as above - for people who have hardly done any dancing before.
  • Salsa continuing beginners
    This class is for people who did the Salsa beginners class in the Autumn term. It will run over what was learned and then improve upon it.
    Each lesson will have a maximum of 30 people.
  • Salsa continuing improvers
    This class will follow on directly from the Salsa improvers class from the Autumn semester.
    Each lesson will have a maximum of 30 people.
  • Salsa styling
    This class is for people who have previous experience of Salsa dancing and want to learn more advanced technique.
    Each lesson will have a maximum of 30 people.

When are the lessons?

  • Autumn term 2011 - 8 week course
    Runs every Tuesday from November 1st and take place in the Great Hall, Trent building, unless otherwise specified.

  • Spring term 2008 - 8 week course
    Runs every Monday from the 31st January

If for some reason any of the classes are in a different location you will be informed by email.

How much do they cost?

To join any of our lessons you have to have to be a member of our society which costs £8.

Once you are a member, 7-week courses cost £18.
