We run two courses of lessons through the academic year:
Autumn Term: An 8-week course running 13th October to 1st December
Complete beginners: Two classes available for complete beginners, teaching exactly the same thing but at different times to suit you. Continuing beginners: One class for dancers who attended classes last year and dancers with less than 2 years experience. Improvers: One class for those with more than two years previous experience or those taking the Improvers or Continuing Beginners course last year)
The "Continuing Beginners" class will turn into a "Beginners Team" class two weeks in to provide an accelerated course for those who wish to dance for the university team. It is possible that you may be moved to a different class time on the Monday night to accommodate for this. If you do join the team class, you will learn at a faster pace and be invited to enter complete beginner competitions against other complete beginners from other universities. Find out more about our team here.
Spring Term: An 8-week course running February to Easter (1 class for complete beginners, 1 class of 'continuing' beginners for those who took classes in Autumn term, 1 Continuing Improvers class)
Latin and Ballroom lessons are on Monday evenings and Salsa lessons are on Tuesday evenings. Our weekly lesson schedule can be found here. Our Latin and Ballroom Officer and our Salsa Officer are responsible for the smooth running of these courses, please contact them if you have any queries about your class.
Please see our Society FAQ for details on how to sign up for the courses of lessons and everything you need to know about joining LBSS.
